Elizabeth Gabay has been in the wine trade since 1986 and became a Master of Wine in 1998. Living in the south east of France she has researched the history of the traditional Provençal wine bottle, the history of wine in the Alpes Maritimes, the evolution of rosé and more. She has judged the Decanter World Wine Awards and many other competitions, including Hungary’s VinAgora, Le Mondial du Rosé, and contributed to the Guide de Vins de Provence, "Decanter" and "Drinks Business". She has written for the Provence section of winetravelguides.com, edited and updated the Provence section of Oz Clarke’s annual Pocket Wine Book, and reviewed the Provence vintage chart for the International Wine and Food Society and the Provence section of the 2013 edition of Jancis Robinson’s World Atlas of Wine. Just recently she has published Rosé. Understanding the pink wine revolution - a comprehensive guide to the world of rosé wine.

John Salvi MW

John Salvi is an English Master of Wine who has lived for the last 35 years in Bordeaux. After 40 years in the wine trade as négociant, shipper, winemaker and professional taster, he now devotes his time to sharing his great knowledge with wine-lovers as a skilled wine journalist and wine guide in Bordeaux and other famous wine regions. He is a member of the British Circle of Wine Writers, founder and committee member of the Fédération Internationale des Journalistes et Écrivains du Vin (Brussels), member of the Association Française des Journalistes et Ecrivains du Vin AFJEV (Paris), Senior Livery of the Worshipful Company of Vintners (Great Britain), Institute of Masters of Wine (London) and represents Great Britain at the International Union of Oenologists.

Romana Echensperger MW
Germany
Romana Echensperger has worked for 12 years as a sommelier in high-end restaurants in Germany and Spain. In 2005, she was elected 'Best Sommelier of Berlin', working from a wine list of 1,000 German wines. From 2007 to 2010, she was head sommelier at the three-star restaurant Vendôme near Cologne, which was selected 'Best Restaurant of Germany'. Since 2011 she works as a wine educator and consultant on an international level. In particular, she appears as ambassador for German Wines for the German Wine Institute. She also works as an independent wine journalist and has her own wine column. In 2015 she received the title of Master of Wine.

Yair Kornblum Koren
Israel
Yair Kornblum Koren is an Israeli wine & spirits journalist and an experienced wine judge in international competitions such as Mundus Vini, Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, Asian Wine & Spirits, Spirits Selection and Vinitaly. Yair is a known wine broadcaster and writer contributing for almost two decades to the Israeli public radio (IBA) and The Israeli Wine & Gourmet Magazine – WINET. He is co-author and editor in chief of The Comprehensive Guide to Israeli Wines, published recently in Hebrew and English. The book was well received by the public and the trade. For his activity as journalist, Yair was awarded the decoration of Cavaliere by the President of Italy.

Emese Domián
Hungary
Emese Domián graduated from Humboldt University in Berlin
and Vreie Universiteit in Amsterdam. She has also received Wine & Spirit Education Trust 4th Level Diploma and the title of Wineakademiker from Austrian Wine Academy. He has judged regularly in Prestige Reserve Club Awards (Hungary) and many international wine competitions and has been the author and co-author of many wine related books and articles.

Jochen Erler
Austria
Jochen Erler writes freelance on wine and spirits for trade magazines in the UK and Germany, for “Weinbau” in Austria as foreign correspondent, for German magazine "Selection" and other magazines overseas. His writing includes contributions to Harpers & Drinks Int`l (UK), "Weinwirtschaft" and "Alles über Wein" (Germany), "The Wine News" (US), "WineLand/Wynboer" (SA) and inflight magazines. From 1991 to 2013 he has been a permanent member of jury at the International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC) in England, since 2010 at the Austrian Wine Challenge (AWC), and since more than 25 years intermittently at some 20 international, national and regional contests. He works occasionally as a consultant. For ten years he was a wine tour leader for "Winetrails". Since 2010 he has been a presenter at the International Wine Tourism Conference, since 2014 a lecturer on cruise ships. He is a member of the Circle of Wine Writers, the International Federation of Wine Journalists, and the Cruise Lecturers’ Association.

Paulo Dinis Vale Lopes

Paulo Lopes is a wine specialist with a strong technical background and solid experience focused on packaging for the wine industry. Graduated in Forestry Engineering from Universidade Técnica de Lisboa. In 2005, Paulo received an Enology and Viticulture PhD from the Faculté d’Oenologie de Bordeaux. Along with Denis Dubourdieu and Yves Glories, Paulo has made vital contributions in areas such as oxygen permeation of different wine closures and its impact on the chemical and sensory properties of bottled wine. Research and Technical Manager at Amorim and Irmãos, S.A., since 2006. In 2011 Paulo received a Wine MBA from BEM Management School (Bordeaux), completing a thesis entitled “Importance of closure type on consumer expectations, price perception and willingness to purchase eco-labeled wines in Canada”.

Jan Stávek
Czech Republic
Jan Stávek graduated from Palacky University in Olomouc and completed his Ph.D. thesis on the vinification of rosés at Mendel University in Brno. He is a wine taster certified by the Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority. He has judged in many international wine competitions including Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, AWC Vienna, Vinoforum, Grand Prix Vinex. He has been also lecturing on enology at Wine Academy Valtice, Mendel University in Brno and Czech Agriculture University in Prague. He has been contributing to such wine & gastronomy journals as "Wine and Degustation", "Beverage and Gastro", "Bar Life", "Vinařský obzor". He is also the author of several books on wine including the latest Rosé: veselý i vážný vícebarevný svět vína (“Rosé: the multicoloured world of wine”, Radix, Prague, 2013).

José Luis Murcia Garcia

José Luis Murcia Garcia received his Ph.D. in journalism at Universidad Complutense de Madrid. He is a president of Asociación Española de Periodistas y Escritores del Vino and Director General at Vitispress S.L. and CEO of World Olive Oil Exhibition. He has received many awards, including Prix de Literature Gastronomique (International Academy Of Gastronomy) and Mejor Periodista Agrario de España (Unión de Pequeños Agricultores). He has judged in many international wine competitions including Concours Mondial de Bruxelles.

Rémy Charest
Canada
Rémy Charest is a Québec City–based writer and translator. He has been writing about wine and food since 1997 for publications such as Le Devoir, EnRoute, Châtelaine, Palate Press, Wine Enthusiast and the Quebecor/Sun Media chain of newspapers. He occasionally blogs in French and English about cocktails, wine, food and poetry, and is a regular contributor to Chacun Son Vin/WineAlign, Canada’s most popular wine web site. He has been judging national and international wine competitions since 2009, including the National Wine Awards of Canada and the TexSom International Wine Awards.

Jean-Luc Baus
France
Jean-Luc Baus received his Master Degree in International Wine Business after graduating from École Supérieure de Commerce de Dijon. He worked for ten years for E&J Gallo Winery in California and opened two restaurants in Paris. He returned to wine industry and started working for Ackerman (Loire Valley). He gives regular master classes on cremants and other Loire wines. He was a member of jury at Chardonnay du Monde competition and used to be a part of Guide Hachette wine jury.

Leona De Pasquale
Taiwan
Leona Wang is a London based Taiwanese freelance wine writer, translator and WSET Certified Educator. She wrote and translated for Decanter Magazine (Chinese Edition in Taiwan), Le Pan Magazine in Hong Kong and is the Europe Correspondent for the most influential wine and spirits magazine in Taiwan (Wine & Spirits Digest) as well as the Wine Correspondent for the web-based The Vintage Magazine. Her translation works include some of the most authoritative wine books such as The World Atlas of Wine, American Wine and Natural Wine. She is also a holder of WSET Level 4 Diploma.

Georges Meekers
Malta/Belgium
Georges J. M. Meekers is a wine writer and educator. His writing career began in the 1990 with a weekly wine column for a 'Sunday' paper. He continues to contribute to 'The Times of Malta' and several international wine trade magazines with vintage reports on Malta and other upcoming wine regions. He is also the author of the first reference book on the Maltese wine industry. His publication 'Wines of Malta – the essential guide' was awarded 'Best Wine Guide' at the Gourmand World Cookbook Award in London, 2008. Georges is Malta’s member of the Circle of Wine Writers. He is also the founder of the online wine school Wine Campus and remains active in the Maltese wine industry.

Adam Pawlowski, MS
Poland
Adam Pawłowski is the first and only Polish Master Sommelier.
He started his career as a sommelier at Northcote a Michelin starred establishment in the North-West of England, where for 6 years was leading a very talented team of sommeliers and managing one of the best wine lists in the country. He is a member of The Court of Master Sommeliers, Polish Sommelier Association, Atelier Ruinart, Academy of Food and Wine Service, L’Ordre des Coteaux de Champagne and Chaîne de Rôtisiers. He judges at Decanter Wine Awards, runs seminars, master classes, training sessions and wine and food workshops. He is also a tutor for the Court of Master Sommeliers - the most prestigious in the world training organisations for sommeliers. He runs his own column in „Food Service” - the best Polish magazine for hospitality professionals.

Paul White
USA / New Zealand
Dr. Paul White developed a passion for Pinot Noir while living in Oregon in the 1970s. After that he learned to taste wine critically as captain of the Oxford University Wine Tasting Team in the 1980s while completing his PHD. Later in the 1990s he moved to New Zealand to explore Australasian wine culture. Since then he has traveled to over 60 wine regions on 6 continents. His judging experience includes over 60 international wine competitions yearly since 1988 including Concours Mondial de Bruxelles (panel chair 2003-2019, EU, International Wine Challenge (panel chair 1988-2005, UK), Sydney International Top 100 (2000-2008, Aus.), Silk Route Competition (panel chair, China), Mondial Sauvignon Blanc (Panel chair 2009-2019, EU), Royal Easter Show (NZ), Essencia dos Vinhos (Portugal) and Collection Pays D'Oc (president, Languedoc). During his career as a wine journalist he has written for magazines, newspapers and web sites in United Kingdom, USA, Australia, New Zealand and Europe, including World of Fine Wine, Slow Wine and Decanter, Harpers, Wine, Slow Food, Sante, Gourmet Traveler Wine, Essencia do Vinhos, Enólogos, and many more.

Anne-Wies van Oosten
Holland
Anne-Wies van Oosten is a Dutch wine and food writer. Her expertise in wine and food has begun in 1980 when she started her own wines and delicacies store, with which she won several prizes. Anne-Wies has obtained a degree in ‘Register Vinoloog’ at the Dutch Wine Academy and afterwards she has taken a variety of courses on wine and food in the Netherlands and abroad including the WSET4 Diploma Course. Anne-Wies sold her store and started working as a free-lance journalist on wine and food. You can find her insights and knowledge on this subject on her own website Anne-Wies.nl, as well as on several other websites and Dutch wine and food magazines. She has taken part in many international winetasting events, including being a wine taster in the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles.

Michele Shah

Michèle Shah is a marketing consultant and wine critic based in Italy for over
30 years, specialising in promoting Italian wines. Her writing experience includes contributions to: winespectator.com, decanter.com, and wine-business-international.com, monthly columns for winenews.it as well as feature articles for : ‘Meininger’s Wine Business International’, ‘Wine Spectator’, ‘Decanter’, ‘Corriere Vinicolo’, and ‘Sommelier India’. She has judged many international wine competitions including: Decanter World Wine Awards, International Wine Challenge, International Wine & Spirit Competition and Mundus Vini.

Liviu Gheorghe
Romania
Liviu lives in Bucharest, Romania and started to „flirt” with the wine industry aprox 12
years ago, at the beginning with some training in Wine Tasting Techniques and Sommelier Courses and later obtaining a Master Degree in Viticulture and Winemaking at the University of Agricultural
Sciences and Veterinary Medicine in Bucharest. He graduated the WSET Diploma in Wines and Spirits and obtained the Weinakademiker title at Weinakademie Rust, Austria in 2020.
Starting with mid 2021 he is the co-founder and CEO of WINEBOOK, a company specialized in wine events and one of the Romanian WSET APPs and is teaching WSET courses as a WSET Certified Educator for Level 1 - 3 in wines. Liviu participated as a judger to various wine
competions such as IWCB Vinarium, Romanian Rose Wine Contest, Top 100 Wines from Romanian Grape Varieties, etc. Menber of WINELOVER Romania association.

Jean-Louis Buer
France
Jean-Louis Buer has been a French civil servant since 1990 after a Master of Law, a Master in Political Science (Paris and Berkeley), a MBA in Dauphine University in Paris and a scholarship in French Ecole Nationale d’Administration. Between 2015 and 2018 he worked as Agricultural Counsellor in the French Embassy in Warsaw. In the Ministry of Agriculture in France he has been Head of the Department in charge of Research and Education. In the wine business, he has been between 1997 and 2001 Deputy Head of the Wine Interprofessionnal Office in France and between 2009 and 2013 Head of the French National Institute for Protected Denominations of Origin (INAO), in charge of the rules and the monitoring of all the quality wines in France. He is an expert in wine rules and intellectual property standard.

Ralf Anselmann
Germany
Ralf Anselmann has the title Diplom-Agraringenieur. He studied agriculture and viticulture at the University of Stuttgart-Hohenheim. He has been working as an owner and technical director of the Weingut Werner Anselmann, one of Germany’s largest wine estates. He is also a general manager of the Gebrüder Anselmann GmbH – wine trading Company that produces high quality sparkling wines (classic method). In 2010 he was awarded Winamaker of the Year by the DLG (German Agricultural Society) and the Federal Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection (BMEL). He has been judging at numerous international wine competitions exceeding twenty countries (Vinalies Internationales, Mundus vini, Sélections Mondiales des Vins, Mondial du Rosé, Vinitaly, Bacchus Wine International Competition, Premios Zarcillo, Vinandino, Finger Lakes Wine Competition, Concurso Internacional de Vinhos do Brasil, Mondial des Pinots, Vinagora Budapest, Thessaloniki Wine & Spirits Competition etc.). He is also an authorized expert of the Chamber of Agriculture and member of the Association of German oenologists (BDO).

Nicoletta received the title of Master in Enology and Winemaking at the University of Piacenza, and now attends stage 2 of the Master of Wine studies at the Institute of Masters of Wine in London. She works as freelance wine writer, educator and wine communicator. Aaron Mandel

Aaron Mandel DipWSET balances his full-time career as an attorney with his role as Director of Education for the American Wine Society, all while studying for his Master of Wine. He coordinates the Wine Judge Certification Program for the American Wine Society and, as a wine judge, he has served at competitions including the International Wine Challenge in London, The Vienna International, The INDY International Wine Competition,The Finger Lakes International Wine Competition, and The Florida State Fair International Wine Competition. He is also maker of cheese, baker and, generally, maker of caloric things.

Wojciech Gogoliński
Poland
Wojciech Gogoliński has been in wine business for more that 25 years. He worked as an editor-in-chief of "Magazyn Wino" and "Czas Wina" and was a founder and the first president of the Polish Sommeliers' Association. He is also an author of several books on wine, including Encyklopedia Alkoholi, and Wiedza o wine. He contributed to Jancis Robinson's The Oxford Companion to Wine as an author of the entry on Polish wines. He has been teaching wine at Jagiellonian University and Collegium Civitas and also judging at several wine competitions, including Mundus Vini and Concours Mondial des Bruxelles.

Susanne Berglund Krantz

Susanne works as wine educator, sommelier and winewriter. She has been an official sherry-educator, rioja-educator and VDP.Praedikatsguter ambassador. She holds the WSET Diploma. Has been awarded as Swedish sommelier-champion and received Lilly Bollinger award, as well as Silver and Bronze medals in Nordic Sommeliercompetition. She judges regularly at Vinitaly wine challenge and Vinordic. She is also a videoblogger for Punkvin.

Razvan Steonescu

Razvan Stoenescu comes from Romania and he is initiator and writer of wine blog vin2.ro since 2012.
Studied and participated in several courses on the art of wine tasting after which he organized
numerous wine tastings. Razvan write several articles in specialized magazines, participating in international
wine competitions and he is active member of the international community #winelover, being ambassador for Romania. Razvan is a member of ADAR - Association of Authorized Tasters in Romania and organizer of the Romanian Rose Wine Contest since 2013. Vili Galabova graduated MBA as an economist, majoring in International Economic Relations. She has been involved with the world of wine since 1997. An international wine professional with more than 25 years of experience as wine exporter, wine journalist, critic, educator and wine judge, Vili is running her wine consultancy since 2011, and currently is working on EC and other EU donors projects in Armenia and Georgia, the last 5 years as regional wine advisor for the Dutch state CBI Agency, consulting wineries in Eastern Europe and the Caucasian region. She has been educated in the world’s most prestigious wine institution The Institute of Masters of Wine (IMW), London, UK. Her experience in wine extends across international sales, marketing and business development. Vili is passionate to drive change by bringing wine people together and has travelled around the world studying and understanding wine culture and wine markets.
